    Default madcrow's 1964 0.99

1964 0.99 Compatibility and Bug Report

    My Specs:
    -P4 Celeron @ 2GHz (actually only 1991 MHz)
    -512 MB RAM
-Intel 82852/82855 GM/GME Graphics Controller (8-64MB RAM). (It steals from the system RAM if

    needed)
-Windows XP (would someone hurry up and port 1964 to Linux already. I hate Windows)
    -DirectX 8.1

    Plugins:
Graphics: Rice's Daedalus 5.2.0 in DirectX Mode(unless otherwise noted)
Sound: schibo's 1.2 (unless otherwise noted)
    Input: N-Rage's DInput8 1.80a

    The Games:

1080 Snowboarding: Looks and sounds great. No problems (expect i suck at the game)

Aidyn Chronicles - First Mage: Ditto (haven't played long enough to know if i suck)

All Star Tennis '99: No problems (I don't like the game very much, Mario Tennis is better)

Army Men - Air Combat: No problems

Banjo-Kazooie: Looks, Sounds and Plays Great

    Banjo-Tooie: Ditto

Battletanx: With Rice's, crashes right after start. No problems with Jabo's 1.51

Battletanx Global Assualt: Same problem, same fix as above.

Beast Wars TransMetal: No 3D using Rice Daedalus. Perfect with Jabo 1.51

Beetle Adventure Racing: Playable but glitchy using defaults. Switching to Jabo's D3D fixed

    glitches but makes things slower.

Blast Corps: Crashes after logos with Rice's. Works, but with a few small texture glitches

    using Jabo's

Blues Brothers 2000: Works great with defaults

Bomberman 64: works fine with defaults

California Speed: works fine with defaults

    Castlevania: Works perfectly with defaults

Chameleon Twist: Works perfectly with defaults. Make sure to turn on rumblepak emulation

City Tour GP: Flashing, can't get past "car select"

Conker's Bad Fur Day: Works Beautifully with default plugins. VERY low idle's though.

Cruisin' World: Works great with defaults

    Dark Rift: Doesn't work.

Destruction Derby 64: Works perfectly with defaults

Donkey Kong 64: Plays fine with Rice's+ Jabo's DSound 1.5 (I can't get the first banana

    though, I'm too slow)

Doom 64: Mega-glichy using Rice's and Jabo's. Doesn't work at all with others

Duke Nukem 64: Works great with the defaults (I hate moving usind the f***ing c-buttons

    though).

ECW Hardcore Revolution: Plays fine with defaults. Switching to Jabo's fixes glitches in the

    Intro sequences

    Extreme-G: Plays great with defaults

F-1 World Grand Prix: A few little glitches, but easily playable with Rice's

F-Zero X: Glitchy with Rice's; Perfect with Jabo's. (I'm starting to notice a pattern here)

    Fighter's Destiny: Perfect with defaults

Forsaken 64: Works like a charm with the defaults.

Gex 3: Works perfectly with the defaults

Gex: Same as above (Great game: btw)

Goemon's Great Adventure: Works perfectly with default settings

GoldenEye 007: Wow. I never knew the skies were that detailed. Needless to say, works great.

Harvest Moon 64: Flashing with Rice's. Works fine with Jabo's

Hexen: Doesn't get past menus/ intro text no matter what I do

Jet Force Gemini: Works great with Jabo's. Has a weird crash with Rice's

Killer Instinct Gold: Playable, but not yet enjoyable (weird FX glitches, lifebar broken)

using Rice's. No luck for anything else.

Kirby 64: Getting close on both Rice's and Jabo's but still some bugs

Legend of Zelda OoT: Works with Rice's but has text glitches. Works perfect with Jabo's. Also

    looks good with glN64 0.41

Legend of Zelda Majora's Mask: Text glitches with Rice's. Perfect with Jabo's

Mario Golf: Works OK with Jabo's. Messes up badly with Rice's.

Mario Kart 64: Works fine with defaults

    Mega Man 64: Won't start

Mortal Kombat 4: Works fine with defaults

Mortal Kombat Trilogy: Works great with defaults

Mystical Ninja: Works great with defualts

Neon Genesis Evangelion: Flashing with Rice's. Fine with Jabo's

Paper Mario: Not perfect, but playable using Jabo's D3D + RSP sound

Perfect Dark: Works great with defaults

Pokemon Stadium: Attack menus are invisble, but otherwise works perfectly with defaults

Pokemon Stadium 2: Slightly glitchy but perfectly playable.

Quake 64: Very slight gliches with defaults but runs fine (its still better than the PC

    version)

Ridge Racer 64: Works perfectly with defaults.

Star Fox 64: Works great with Rice's. To get the sound, use the RSP plugin

Star Wars: SoE: Messes up after menu

    Super Mario 64:
    Perfect with defaults

super Smash Brothers: Perfect with defaults

Tony Hawk 3: Had been working fine, but stopped when I went to test

Turok - Dinosaur Hunter: Works great with default

Turok - Rage Wars: Use Jabo's D3D for best results

Turok 2: Glitchy with defualts. Use Jabo's

    ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
That's it for my list. Any workaround for problems (especially help on getting Tony Hawk 3 to

work again), additional compatibity info (using different plugins, different system specs, games I don't have) and anything else is encouraged.

Nice amount of games you tested, glad to see most worked fine.

THPS3 I recommend Jabos - does it still not work now? I completed this game twice during Beta, so it should be perfect, or near to it. Try again, if it still don't work I'll have a think what to do.

City Tour GP - Can't be fixed
    Dark Rift - same

For some of the problems you are having try:

Under Combiner type in Rices plugin:

    Direct X options:

    Lowest
    Middle
    Highest

    2 stage
    3 stage
    4 stage

Try each one of those, alongside switching combiner/blender on and off - see about all of this. A lot to mess about with really.

Under Open GL combiner options is:

    1.1 GL
    1.2/1.3
    1.4

Again combiner options can be messed about with.

Under DX you may wish to also turn off framebuffer effects which will slow down any games that use them.

    GLN64 is worth trying
As is an older version of Jabos
    Glide64 and Evoodoo likewise

You've got a lot of options really.

I recommend Jabos for people with a GeForce FX 5200. There were a lot of problems with Rice's plugin and the FX 5200. It works great on Jabos though. I would also use Jabos if you have the Forceware nVidia drivers.

I wish I had my GF3 Ti200 here - I had it looking perfect with Rices plugin when I was using it (most of those shot in the screenshots thread were taken using it).

So it disappoints me to see people having problems - I think I could fix most of them if I had the card, lol

If you use Rices on Pokemon stadium 2 and you switch the framebuffer emulation mode to complete while trying to do the 1P quiz mini-game it causes 1964 to crash completely.

Has anyone ever managed to get the text to display correctly in that game?

Del_boy told me that the Pokemon Studiums work better with Jabo's 1.5. I use it also, and it does work better.

You could try Rices in that game, but in the rom properties set FB R/W = on

Then in Rices plugin (DX mode only) set FB to 'With emulator'

See if that helps at all.
