Anything on 4.xx jailbreak is probably suspect. PS3hax sticky tut still says you need to downgrade to 3.55 (compatible models).

That model should be downgrade-able If what I read was correct. I have a super slim, so I can't.

Just read somewhere else that any 3000x PS3 cannot be downgraded to 3.55 ever, since they came out after the OFW was in the 4.xx range. So, if that's true, 3.55 can never be forced on the system to install any CFW.

Again, it's not a loss. It was tempting, since I was flashing back to my days of 900 Dreamcast games...but eh.

PS3 physical games are cheap anyway dude. Only thing is with an old unit the optical drive may decide to die at some point...and the old fats have overheating issues. A guy at work has gone through several fats in the last year I keep telling him to just get a slim or super slim.
