Default Problem with Pokemon Diamond / Pearl rom + emulation

    DxDiag.txt
I ran DXDIAG like the forum post asked, that's what the attachment is
    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    (Pokemon Diamond (v05) (U)(Legacy) and Pokemon Pearl (v05) (U)(Legacy))
I'm on windows 10 64 Bit with a intel core i5 Processor. Pretty typical setup.
Whenever I get to this screen in the tutorial
    http://imgur.com/a/HNkpJ
The game freezes and refuses to continue on.
I've tried saving + selecting different starters. Is it a broken ROM? Any suggestions or fixes?
EDIT: I forgot to provide what emulator I am using. I am using NO$GBA 2.8d

    The Emulator is the issue

Try using DeSmuME or Retroarch using the DeSmuME core instead (A better emu in general)

Some DS roms have protection built into them so may need patching

Personally I use a Flash kit that does not require patches, I can't be certain for DeSmuME as I stated I use a flash kit

If you think a patch may be needed by DeSmuME let me know

Problem is DeSmuME brings my frames down to nothing, while other emulators don't.
