I've heard good about BenQ, but one customer recently shot the company as a whole at the Radio Shack I work at. As for the LCD monitors, if you don't play at it's native resolution, could the picture quality actually be worse than my current CRT monitor @ 1024x768 (or 1152x864)? One of the big draws on why I want do get an LCD is because 1.) uses less power, and 2.) it is bigger than my 17" one, and should necessarily look better.

Enough of that for now though... I've got a class to catch. Thanks in advance.

Solution: Don't succumb to "zomg widescreen" fever.

    AMD64x2 6000+
    3GB RAM
    8500GT 512MB
    2x200GB IDE drives
    1x320GB SATA drive

Nothing fancy, but it does the job. Minus a problem with overheating in the summer (should rectify that soon. Adding a second 12cm fan and a second 8cm fan, both for extraction).

I was thinking of adding a tv tuner, but I'd rather shell out for a cheap digital TV so I can keep playing my gamecube.

    I'd totally use that P3 w/256mb RAM.

    Mine: P4, 512mb ram, 160gb hdd, ATi Radeon X1050.

Doing an overhaul on it in the next few weeks. 2GB RAM + Vista? Yes please.

until you realize how much slower it really is compared to a p4

Also, 2gb ram + Vista is a good combo.
