HELP PLEASE!!! (BIOS issue on mame4droid)

I can't figure out how to play mame roms which require mame 0.133 bios on mame4droid. I tried installing the bios file into my roms folder, but it doesn't seem to work. There are two games I really want to play but can't until I figure this out. Someone help please!

You might want to mention the games

personally I would get a MAME 0.133 dat file if MAME4Droid is based on that version of MAME or even it's own dat if has one and scan the roms via clrmamepro using the dat file and find out what exactly is missing or incorrect for that version of MAME, or even use a PC version of MAME, like MAMEUI (32bit or 64bit version depending on your OS) that is the same version as the Droid port and use that to audit the games in question, that should tell you what is missing if anything is.

Bios roms do go in the roms folder by the way, the same as the actual game roms, but MAME4Droid is based on an old version of MAME so some current rom files may not be compatible with it

The games I'm trying to play are Karnov and Vigilante. I'm sorry, but I didn't really understand your post. I am not extremely emulation literate. The mame4droid I'm using is version 0.139u1. The game roms for these two games say that I need mame bios 0.133. When I try to download the bios file, I get something called MAMEBIOS.RAR. I put this file into my rom folder, but the games still don't play.

No such thing as a MAME bios but some of the systems emulated use bios images for whatever system they came from

Vigilante (World, set 1) vigilant.zip does not require a bios file, neither does Karnov (US) karnov.zip

so the roms you have for those may be wrong for your version of MAME

Grab MAMEUI 0.139 from http://www.progettosnaps.net/mameui/

copy the roms in question to the roms folder of the PC version I mentioned the zip files above

run your PC version of MAME and look at the Available list right click on the game (I mentioned the parent versions of both games above) and select the audit option, that will tell you what is missing

Just tried:

Karnov (Japan and US versions)
Vigilante (Japan, US and World versions)

All versions worked in MAME4droid 1.5.2 using the 0.375b romset. I didn't play too far into the games though. You can grab the same romset I'm using here:

You'll need to dload both parts and use the password to extract.
