Picked up The Strokes - Room On Fire.

Has anyone else seen the immensely old-skool coolness of their Tron-like video for 12:51?

And today I bought the debut album of The Cooper Temple Clause, titled See Through This & Leave. After giving it a few listens, it's more rockier than I imagined it would be.

I've just come back from town, where I picked up:

Dream Theater - Images And Words

Metallica - ...And Justice For All

I'm listening to the first track ('Pull Me Under') from the DT album right now, and it's very, very good. I'd heard a couple of their songs before, namely 'A Change Of Seasons' and 'Dance Of Eternity', but I'm really glad that I've finally managed to get one of their albums.

Metropolis Pt 1 is the peak, but Learning To Live is also very high up there, and Another Day and Under A Glass Moon have brilliant guitar solos. Justice kicks arse too, but you probably knew that already. Best Metallica album.

Yesterday my copy of Powerslave arrived after many gruelling weeks. I'd already heard everything from it, but now I have a little more of the picture of Eddie along the spines...

You took your time getting Absolution. I can't talk, yesterday I got cds that I've been meaning to get for ages, one of which it's taken me a year to finally buy...

The Mars Volta - De-Loused In The Comatorium (No longer can you taunt me on this point, Johnny)
At The Drive-In - Relationship Of Command
    Mr Bungle - California
Dillinger Escape Plane with Mike Patton - Irony Is A Dead Scene ep
Social Distortion - White Light, White Heat, White Trash.

Love birthday money. And I got an mp3 playing discman to replace the one that got stolen two days before my birthday last year, huzzah...

I also got yet another Muse poster, with a note from an FMR lady saying that I should look out for some exciting news coming soon. Best be talking Muse coming to NZ.

Bought the new self-titled Blink 182 album. I've been listening to it all day, and to be honest, it's brilliant. It's very different to their previous albums, for example there's a lot of strange electronic effects in it, and the lyrics are much darker. They've even got Robert Smith providing vocals on 'All Of This'. Album of the year for me, no doubt about it.
