i already had downloaded the advance copy. but i loved the album so much, that i imported it anyways.

Also:

Andrew Bird ~ On weather systems
M. ward ~ Transistor Radio
The Streets ~ A grand don't come for free

the first two are among my favourite solo songwriters. the last is slightly over rated....but he's one of the first hip-hop artists i ever liked.

@Slim: you wasted your money on the modest mouse record.Pick up 'moon and antarctica' or 'lonesome crowded west' instead.Great Stuff.I can't believe they sold out

Heh, I've heard them, but I'm a collector and a completist, plus it was $6AUD ($3 or so US). I think you underestimate me, Wordsworth. Still like Savage Garden?...

Where do you find all this cheap music?
I'd buy music if I could find cheap music.

OK, I only know the city CD stores. But Lawson's Records, Red Eye Records, Dirt Cheap CD's and Rock Bottom CD's are all on Pitt Street. I've got a route that I follow from Central station pretty much every time I go. The place I gott the MM CD from is a quaint little second hand store, I don't know the address, but it's close to Venue Music (Guitar store), a really big book store (Dymocks or something), near Town Hall station.

Really all my Sydney shopping is within an area of about 1.5sq km...

HEY,EVERYBODY STARTS OUT WITH A FEW LAME BANDS!!!!

Anyways, with an understandable sense of lameness, I bought my first three metallica albums:

Metallica ~ ....And Justice for all
Metallica ~ Ride the lightning
Metallica ~ Master of Puppets

Also:

Kanye West ~ College Dropout(cassette- contains the first hip-hop track i ever liked-Jesus Walks.)

Doves ~ Some Cities
Daft Punk ~ Human after all
(both cassettes)
I was so suprised at finding these two, that i bought them immediately, even though i've got the first one on my hardware.

Currently listening to:
Isis ~ Panopticon [9/10]
The Walkmen ~ Bows & Arrows [8.5/10]
The Shins ~ Oh, Inverted World
Explosions In The Sky ~ How Strange, Innocence
Caribou ~ The Milk of Human Kindness
Jhann Jhannsson ~ Virulegu Forsetar

Haha, yes, don't worry I've got a couple of Beach Boys albums on vinyl from my parents, and had it on my harddrive for about a year. It's usually priced at about 15 though which is why I hadn't got it already. Sales kick ass...

Wow, I haven't been here in a bit.
Anyways, I've just bought:

Kincaide - Myraid
Shifted - Based on a True Story
Rocky Horror Punk Rock Show
American Hi-Fi - The Art of Losing
Garbage - Bleed Like Me
Accident Scene - I've Been Told The Sky Is Falling

Anyways... as for my collection, I have about 170 that are legally purchased, about 20 that I downloaded, and a few more that are coming in, as well as a few records that I don't really count as part of my listening collection.

I listen to most of them. Not all, but most... some of them I picked up just to complete deals ("2 for $30 on selected CDs").
