    Default MSU-1 Higan emulation problem

    Hi,
I am having problems getting the msu-1 emulation to work on higan. Every time I go into the emulation folder after launching mmx_msu1 (Megaman X), placing the .pcms, with the .bml in the folder, I get a blank screen with no sound. Can someone please tell me what I did wrong? I'd really would like this to play this with surround sound in my living room.

    Thanks.

Just what the README.txt file tells you to do

    1. Patch the ROM using mmx_msu1_emulator.ips and making sure it is named mmx_msu1.sfc
    2. Launch it using higan
    3. Go to %USERPROFILE%\Emulation\Super Famicom\mmx_msu1.sfc in Windows Explorer.
    4. Copy manifest.bml and the .pcm file there
    5. Run the game

I did all that and read the readme before. It's still not working. Black screen like I said before. Does it have anything to do with the windows I'm running? Idk I'm out of ideas that's why I came here.

I have vista. There was some kind of windows update that came with the pack. It doesn't mention anything about it in the readme. So I unno. Thanks for being so responsivel tho. I've read on the romhacking.com website that some people that rated the hack couldn't get it to work as well. So maybe, it's the hack on my windows. Otherwise the only way of getting it to work would be on SD2SNES (I think that's what it's called.) So I'm not quite sure. I've seen the hack on youtube and was quite impressed with the soundtrack. So hopefully I will be able to play it some form or another.

Was the original rom .smc type and you just simply renamed it to .sfc?

No I downloaded the v 1.1 off this site or should I say revision a. I had not touched a thing. It was .sfc . Patched it with lunar started up the rom. The file was made in emulation. I placed the .pcms, the .bml into the folder and then started it up... Black screen. The emu plays the rom until I place the .pcms and .bml into the folder. I don't get it. Yes it was all the .pcms that was told in the README. The .bml with the romhacking .zip pack. I patched it with the one that is not the SD2SNES patch. I just wanna rock out with some metal in my megaman game.

Hmm seems odd, according to the patch description:

However, the .spc fallback routine means that if the MSU-1 chip is NOT detected (such as in an emulator that does not support it, like ZSNES or snes9x), the standard audio will play, leaving the game to play as if un-patched. Non-destructive patching, FTW.
the game should still work with standard audio via other emus.

Are you sure you used the correct rom and did you check?

    5. Run the game... I think #3 might be wrong instead go to higan folder on desktop Copy manifest.bml and the .pcm files there then open higan an run that file mmx_msu1.sfc

Standard music plays until I place the manifest into either folder. I have no idea what I have done wrong but there are people on the romhacking.com site saying that it doesn't work for some people (as in themselves). So i unno. I have checked the rom to see if it was indeed correct and it was.

This is what it says for the manifest viewer:

Even though there are 32 pcms in the folder it is only reading 30. So you tell me what's going on. This would be the way the README tells you how to do it.

Import the ROM using the import button in the higan library dialog. If you do that, it will rename the file to program.rom So Renaming program.rom to mmx_msu1.sfc it works I never had do that because i didt use import button in the higan library dialog should just be able rename ROM to mmx_msu1.sfc
