Problem with NullDC

Hi guys,

I follow the guide here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gXZe...&nohtml5=False

But after adding the dc_flash.bin and dc_bios.bin, I still get an error message. It gives me: 'unable to load drkPvr_Win32.dll plugin, errorlevel=-104'

Then it gives me a message about plugins and finishes with 'unable to load plugins, exitting.'

PLEASE help!! I need to play Shenmue II before III is released.

Do you have the entire DirectX redist installed and the VisuaL c++ runetimes?

That may be the issue.

Shenmue does not emulate well

The game is very much worth playing just not via emulation yet

Shenmue and Shenmue II can be continued on, on the Dreamcast if the first Shenmue is PAL region

Dreamcasts do not need any sort of mod as long as it's a PAL/JAP console or a US console made before a certain date that I forget but model 0 and 1 should be ok anyway it was only mid and late modal 2 US consoles that had the exploit removed

P.S. Shenmue II is also an Xbox game

seems the best bet for DC emulation is the Libretro Port/enhancement of Reicast.

Reicast is the continuation of NullDC by the same devs but was only on Mobile/ARM hardware , the Libretro/Retroarch team finally ported it so now its available on everything.

It is still "slightly" buggy but it has amazing progress.

I'm having truble playing games. When I try normal boot it takes me to the DC startup screen. And when I press 'play' it says 'please insert game disc'. Same when I try 'no disc'.

How do I get games to play?

Resident Evil3 is cdi, Shenmue 2 is gdi

And regardless you can't get a game to load and it just gets stuck in the Dreamcast home menu eh?

gdi images you need to set the correct region otherwise you get booted to the bios screen (they are dumps of the original discs and all binary files are needed, but you attach it via the GDI file that is just a text file, that lists the files/tracks ect)

gdi images must have the same regional settings as the console/emulator so if the game is NTSC-U then the regional set-up for the emulator or console must also be NTSC-U, you could possibly hack the region of GDI images though (Not sure if NullDC has region detect options, but it is the regional settings you need to look at regardless)

cdi images however are usually region free due to hacking the IP.bin file (it's normally a hidden file) so regional settings are not an issue

if a cdi image is not booting though and is either seen as a music CD or boots you back to the bios then the chances are it is not a self bootable disc aka not a Mil-CD that is not an issue with a real console if you use a boot CD (Utopia) but you can't use that with NullDC

Bootable CDI images will have 2 or more sessions, normally one session of the game data track and one session of cdda tracks (sessions and tracks are different things)

Hi guys, when I try to run RE3 is says:

'nullDC_Win32_Release-NoTrace has stopped working

A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available.'

I can get the Sega logo to come up. But then the above error message pops up.

If you wish to play RE3 I highly suggest Retroarch and the Mednafen PSX core as Dreamcast emulation isjust as bad if not worse than N64 emulation.

I'm trying to remember the various dependencies/issues with NullDC but I'm kinda having a mental block.

I really wantto play Shenmue 2 but it's Japanese. How do I change the region?

Wow I tried another game (Sonic SHuffle) and it actually worked! Guess RE3 was faulty.

Now there's two things I need to know how to do. Change region to Japanese and how to get my PS3 controller to work. I have DS3 but it won't work. Can anyone help?

Also I'm trying to find the ISO for Eternal Arcadia (Japanese version of Skies of Arcadia).
