    Default Broken NES ROMs

The below NES ROMs are broken and not working correctly. These were tested using lr-nestopia on a RetroPie:

A Boy and His Blob: Trouble on Blobolonia
Bases Loaded (although REV A and REV B work fine)
    Battleship
    Big Nose Freaks Out
    Bigfoot
    Blackjack
    Boulder Dash
    Caveman Games
    Magic Johnson's Fast Break
    Peter Pan and the Pirates
    Puzzle
    RacerMate Challenge II
    Sidewinder

Note: All ROMs were downloaded and tested several times to ensure they indeed were broken

Don't blow into them. Unless that's not what you did.

They are not broken, its a emulation issue since you are missing a required file.

This this XML file where ever the Bios's are set to - NstDatabase.zip

extract the XML and put it where it needs to be, no idea on the retropie but in vanilla it goes with the Nestopia.exe, in retroarch it goes in the bios folder.

Once that is set all problem games will be perfectly emulated.

If you have any questions on how to set it up on Windows please feel free to ask, its very easy.

    Hi Warrior,

First off thank you for your help. I appreciate the reply, truly.

I don't think the BIOS or emulator is to blame. I went through and have tested 800+ ROMs and these are the only 13 which have issues. If it was the BIOS or the Emulator I would think there would be failure on the other ROMs. But yes, it is a possibility and I will test on my Windows PC with Nestopia to confirm tonight.

Did you have a chance to re-download and verify on your end? Hopefully someone can.

To work around this, I have gone to other sites and re-downloaded the ROMs. This corrected my issue but wanted to pass this along to the site so that these ROMs are corrected for the next user that comes along and has issues.

That file is not a Bios, it is a file that makes the game run correctly if it has a different way it was programmed, check the nestopia directory and see if its present.

Try various games to see the difference , most likely reason the mentioned games were broken is they had a different hash and were not recognized so they were not auto corrected.
