Default 18 months to upgrade to Windows 10 for next gen CPU users

Next generation processors, including Intel's "Kaby Lake", Qualcomm's 8996 (branded as Snapdragon 820), and AMD's "Bristol Ridge" APUs (which will use the company's Excavator architecture, not its brand new Zen arch) will only be supported on Windows 10. Going forward, the company says that using the latest generation processors will always require the latest generation operating system.

They shouldn't have released ten. I know several computer specialists, and they all say that Win 10 freaking sucks. One of the computers at my house has it, and I found that 7 is more efficient, easier to find what you are looking for, takes less time to set up, etc. My current laptop has been asking to upgrade, but I refuse to let it. They're just using us as lab rats for an imperfect OS.

Yeah, I would like to know. IT's pretty annoying to keep getting a message insisting that "Microsoft recommends upgrading." They would recommend it even if it fried one out of ten PC's. Maybe not literally, for legal reasons, but I think you get what I mean.

That should help, there may be more now but I have not checked in awhile.

By the time I get a new CPU, Im sure that previous versions of Windows would be fan-patched to support the chip.

My guess is that the full capabilities will be limited in older versions of windows and Microsoft doesn't plan on updating them as a selling point for Windows 10. This is nothing more than a claim-to-ignorance in order to advertise Windows 10.

Windows has been putting backdoors in their software since the 90s - according to a Tech News website, US developers were required by law to include backdoors to the NSA, and then it expanded as they put more backdoors into them.
The spying thing is nothing new so I don't know why everyone frets about it - I simply keep my Vista machine which works perfectly fine not connected to the Internet, in reality Vista SP2 is actually faster than 7 SP1.

Vista was the biggest leap ever in Windows, all 7 did is change the taskbar icons, remove and add a few programs, update Windows Media Player for the last time, and a few other things, and people call it the best. Vista was shit at its beginning because everyone was trying to upgrade to crap hardware and also NVIDIA was buggering up their GPUs because of the demand, but in the end once systems were better Vista is a really solid and good OS.

(It's only crashed a couple of times on me and that was because of Project64 2.2 being fussy)

Is that even possible? Or legal? Would a brand new Skylake just "refuse" to operate if you're not running Windows 10? So if I were to install Windows XP, Vista, 7, or 8/8.1, would it just not run? If it's an x86 system, then unless there's some underhand program barring the OS, it should still run, no? I just hope they haven't actually installed software meant to break previous Windows versions.

I built a new PC recently and decided to buy Windows 10 voluntarily. Not running Skylake, btw. Running Devil's Canyon i7 4790K. Thinking back, was that a good choice? As far as OS functionality goes, I like multiple desktops and while the settings menu is a pain, at least they left the Control Panel alone. I just never feel secure using Windows 10, as Microsoft seems to be doing a lot of underhand things. One Windows update actually forcefully removed a CPU monitoring utility I used (it was OEM and came on the motherboard CD nonetheless!) saying it was unsafe. Never even gave me the option of keeping it if I wanted to. I don't like it when I'm powerless against my OS's decisions...

Probably still work, but maybe old MS OS won't use the full potential of next gen CPUs idk

if Windows 10was a forum admin random accounts would randomly be hijacked by the OS, posts and threads would disappear, the board would break all the time because it keeps updating itself even when plugins are incompatible, among other things

also PMs would be sent to the staff about what users are doing outside of the board

I have a solution, though: download this, put it on a bootable DVD-Drive, boot from it and enjoy
