Probably cheaper to get the Genny attachment. Unless you specifically need a Master System for technical reasons or something.

I do need it for technical reason, mostly to test ROMs on both systems. Not only am I designing some basic flash carts for the SMS, but I am also designing a dedicated cart for the Genesis to run SMS ROMs. The cart fits inside of a Genny shell, so it is technically a Geny game but runs on the Zilog rather than the Motorola CPU in SMS mode.

decided to hook the sms up got a little worried when it didn't power on with the generic 9v psu I'm using with my nes switched over to my universal ac with the replaceable tips it powered up and I played hang on for a few minutes so glad gen controllers are backward compatible.

it's funny that the 9v adapter wouldn't work on the sms which requires 9v but worked just fine on my nes but I have had a similar problem in the past with my nes not wanting to work witha 9v adapter but worked fine with a universal one.

Aside from my PCE set-up I have all first party power supplies so I've never really experienced problems like that.
