    Default Trouble running Magician Lord

Hello, I'm new here so be gentle. I just got a Nvidia Shield Android TV box. I'm running Mames4ALL Reloaded. I have the Magician Lord Rom. The rom itself will not run. I noticed that it needs the NeoGeo Rom to run with it I guess. Where do I put the NeoGeo Rom? In the same folder with the game Rom (my rom folder)? Thanks for any help.

You need the romset for that version of MAME its running.

Neogeo games require the Neogeo bios which is titled neogeo.zip.
THE BEST METHOD to run PSX games (and everything else for that matter) is via Retroarch - http://buildbot.libretro.com/nightly/
If you have any questions on how to set it up on Windows please feel free to ask, its very easy.

Thanks for responding. I have the neo zip in same folder with all my roms, including Magician Lord. When I try to run Magician Lord I get a message "The selected game is missing one or more required ROM or CHD images". The Magician Lord rom says it is (set 1). Not sure what that means.

Those are from the wrong MAME set that MAME port is running.

Arcade roms are not the same as console roms, they are very fickle and must be precise to that emulators version.

You did leave them zipped correct?

Arcade roms are the zip, do not extract or rename.

I left both of them zipped. The emulator is 0.139u1. Don't know where else to place the neo.zip, if it doesn't go in the Rom folder.

I figured it out. There was a second Magician Lord rom to load. I guess when there is more than 1, you use the last one in the set to run the game. I was trying to run from set 1, it ran from set 2. Is that true for all multiple set roms?

neogeo zip and that version of mame is WAY out of date.

Just grab Retroarch and use that for MAME since its at least up to date and has older versions to choose from.

Thanks. I took a look at RetroArch. Seems a bit confusing. I'll give it a try

It is a little confusing at first but its actually easy once you get into it.

Here is the bios set for it - http://emulation.gametechwiki.com/in...Emulator_Files Bios files for Retroarch cores.

I know how to exactly set it up on Windows if you ever need a hand there.

Not really a mobile platform, but Android anyway so I've moved the thread.
