Default Boot Demul from disc drive

Demul's GD-Rom plugin is asking for a .cdi image. The official disc is right there in the DVD drive...

    It's a DVD drive not a GD-ROM drive.

Okay, so is there a GD-Rom plugin that will emulate a GD-Rom function on the DVD drive?

No. Just download a GDI of the game[s] you want to play.

No plugin will get around the issue, it's all about drive type. There were some stories about particular DVD drives being able to use special firmware to read GD-ROM but from what I've read most people haven't been able to actually recreate the scenario...so it's possibly just a myth.

As Inferno said; you need a .gdi image. Which is a 1:1 dump afaik.

The GD-Rom plugin will allow for a GD-Rom dump to be used (GDI format).

No standard drive can read GD-Rom's though as they are not your standard DVD or CD, the only tracks you can read are the outer tracks that are standard CD but the inner track the one with the actual game data can only be read directly via a GD-Rom drive.

It's only Dreamcast's a few arcade systems and developers machines that used GD-Rom drives, it was never a publicly sold device as a reader or writer
