You need to play Shadowgate. This is one of my favorite adventure games of all time. If you like that one you should check out Deja Vu and Uninvited.

Do you have your bios in the bios folder? If so, it won't let you continue after selecting that bios?

Save your files with a .cue extension.

Don't worry about the .cue file. You won't need it if you're using epsxe. But if you want to burn it, you can create a cue file with notepad so you're good.
