With MAME, you always must have the parent ROM. It's annoying sure, but the idea is that the various versions of one game can share files with each other. Some games require the separate bios files...

Transformers Devastation. I posted my review for it here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nnvez38g2Cg
Well it had to do with releases. II & III weren't released here, so it wouldn't have made sense to release a game that didn't yet have the following it does now and call it IV. If FFVII was released...
The reason you didn't know is because of how they were released in the US. The FIRST Final Fantasy was released on both the Japanese Famicom and the US NES. In Japan, Final Fantasy II & III were...
Just beat A Link Between Worlds getting every heart piece and those Octopus things. Fun game. Now on to New Super Mario Bros 2 while I sit in my hotel room.
Simon's Quest was difficult back in the day because the translation was so bad that it mislead you. You NEEDED Nintendo Power back in the day. That I beat once I got the password to get to...
I've played both on actual hardware, but only finished them later on emulators. If I include games, without cheating, but on emulators, my list would be quite a bit longer.
Super Mario Bros
Super Mario Bros 2
Super Mario Bros 3
Legend of Zelda
Mega Man
Mega Man 2
Mega Man 3
Mega Man 4
Mega Man 5
Mega Man 6

From what I've gathered, SMD is Super Magic Drive. GEN files are usually renamed BIN files and MD is what GoodTools uses.
I wasn't actually asking for help with organization, but wondering how everyone else does theirs. I've thought about organizing them differently or making it front-end friendly.
I haven't installed any games but I do run off of Daemon Tools to use Ootake. It lets me play Castlevania Rondo of Blood as well as the translation hack I have. I also tried out Godzilla as well.
I think its because the original DS and DS Lite have GB Advance hardware built in to play Gameboy Advance games, much like the first PS3 has PS2 hardware in to play PS2 and PS1 games. The DSi and...
So I was curious. How much organization do you guys do with full Rom sets? I like to separate by region (US, Europe, Japan) in folders and I also take out Hacks and Unlicensed games too. It makes it...
I know GoodGen uses .MD as a proper file format but I was wondering, what is the true Genesis file format? .NES is accepted as Nintendo, .SFC for Super NES, etc but Genesis has .gen, .md, .bin(which...
