I'd say it's worth $599 to avoid having to play it with a keyboard.

Was gonna post the DMC4 multiplatform announcement earlier but something came up. I wonder if DMC4 is built on the same engine as Lost Planet and Dead Rising. Capcom have been talking for months about their multiplatform approach and that they developed their own engine that is easily ported from and to different platforms. I heard that Lost Planet and Dead Rising is built on this engine so it wouldn't surprise me if DMC4 is as well nor would it surprise me if multiplatform next-gen Capcom games becomes a everyday thing. We'll see.
Also news is this press release from SCEE. 1,845 of the 2,451 PAL PS2 titles will work on PS3. Nice. Curse them if MGS2/MGS3 isn't among those titles! :P
Yeah, interesting post Crusher. The same goes for the next Final Fantasy, its developed for an engine that makes is easy as a fluke for the devs to port between Xbox 360 and PS3. At least Sakaguchi (Mistwalker) says so.
Yup FFXIII will run on the "White Engine". No idea if it's multiplatform based though, I've heard it's PS3 only. But Square-Enix did license the Unreal Engine 3 not long ago. Now THAT is interesting and is bound to be used for some multiplatform titles.
You are probably right.
Finally been able to browse the PAL PS3 BC list. FFXII, Okami, MGS3, ICO, SOTC all works apparently. No MGS2 though. >____>
I hope that the games that "work" run as good as on the real PS2 hardware .
Wow. I'm pleasantly shocked that Resident Evil 4 ran perfectly on my PC. O_O
well the game was handed off to a company who doesn't even make games, they make computer spreadsheet programs and such :| ...
