Ah well... I guess it's time for an update... I've gotten quite a bit since last purchasing my custom built (by me of course!), and the changes have made my mouth water for some time.
Original Stuff:
Ahanix Zion Case w/ 400w PSU
Gigabyte K8NS Motherboard (Nvidia nforce3 w/ 8 channel sound, SATA, etc.)
AMD Athlon64 3000+ @2.0GHz (no OC, yet)
1GB Corsair Value-Select pc3200 DDR400 CL2.5 RAM
60GB WD HDD (7200rpm, IDE, yada yada)
160GB Maxtor HDD (ditto; was external, now internal)
HP CD-RW/DVD-ROM drive (from Pavilion I originally had)
New Stuff:
XFX Nvidia Geforce 6600GT 128MB AGP 8x (got that around August)
512MB Corsair Value-Select pc3200 DDR400 CL2.5 RAM (gig and a half now!)
300GB Maxtor HDD (ditto, internal in external enclosure)
Logitech MX518 Gaming Mouse
Lite-On SOHW-1693S DVD+-RW etc...
50 Pack DVD-Rs
Majority is thanks to the recent b-day moolah I was given, and my paycheck as well that week. Birthdays are one of a kind, that's for sure!
this pc:
512 ram
160 gig HD
p4 3.0 ghz cpu
nvidia geforce fx5200 256mb
amd XP 2400+
gf4600ti
512mb ram
3 hard drives 2X120gigs IDE and 1X250gigs SATA (and i'm still out of HD space! grrr)
dvd reader.. cd writer...
and my MIGHTY 5" floppy disk reader :)
AMD XP 1800+
GF FX 5200 Ultra (my Ti 4200 died and a friend gave it to me)
512 MB SDRAM
40GB HDD
Audigy 2 Platinum
40x burner that will only burn at 16x. It also auto-closes after 3 seconds, so I've gotta be quick!
16x DVD-ROM.
and the granddaddy of all... Win ME!
AMD athlon 64 3000
256MB Vanila Saphire Radeon 9600 OCed to 460/460
512PC2300 Ram Dual Channel
80GB Seagate Drive--Windows
8GB Seagate Drive--Linux
Integrated sound
48x Dvd-rom drive
52x32x52 Burner
WinXP Home
Fedora Core 4 w/ Gnome
Celeron M 1.4 Ghz
512 MB RAM
other than that, no clue. doesn't interest me much.
that makes me wish i had a desktop and not a laptop. It costs me an arm and a leg to buy a new laptop harddrive, and I have to lose my old hard drive to use the new one :disagree:Quote:

Well... why not go external... not too much more to lug around, and storage can go as high as you want... USB 2.0 works wonders... then again... how old is your lappy?Quote:

Mine was like less than 700 CAD, so like 600 US. =) I might get an AMD 4000+ because of the 1mb cache, and i'm getting my X1600XT 256Mb sometime soon. The 6800GS was a bit better, but too expensive for nothing. (249$ compared to 206$ for the X1600XT 256Mb)
is an AMD 4000+ expensive?
Around 400 CAD i'd say, can't bother to check on supplier website. :P

Beast :) I forget the other stats off the top of my head, at least a 3.8ghz a64, forget if i overclocked that one or not, 2 gigs of ram, all that happy stuff
borman, i'm going to break into your home silently and steal your computer. and hide all of your firearms lol
And he uses the default winxp theme? Lame. :P
Nice rig.
Btw a 4000+ is about 379 US, just checked newegg.

cause 1 512 beats out 2x256 (If I remeber right, DON'T take my word for that).
