ASUS EEE Pad Transformer TF300T

Just got this little number for Christmas(we do it early), I think I'm ready to start emulating on it. I guess I'm just wondering how to get started? This is literally my first experience using a tablet, so I'm a bit stumped as to how to use it.

I know I need to root it if I want to use a PS3 controller, but I'm not sure how to go about performing this. As for which games, I'm emphasizing SNES and MAME. I really don't want to void the warranty for nothing and ruin this piece of rather-expensive gadgetry, so I'm coming here for help. Is there some kind of guide or can I can a few pointers?
